About

Chris Gower is a photographer from Surrey, England, currently living in Los Angeles, California. He's not comfortable writing in the third person, so he'll be putting an end to that right now.

Photography began as a hobby at the age of 10 when my mum handed me her old Minolta point-and-shoot which then developed (pun fully intended) into an appreciation for aesthetics, balancing emotion and order, and a desire to capture images that encapsulate the entire feeling of being in a time and place, years after pressing the shutter button.

I have been a set photographer on movie and television productions, produced headshots for actors and actresses, captured VIP events, shot composers and musicians in their own studios, as well as holding family shoots for everything from celebrating new additions to the family through to holiday shoots. My work has been published on Eloquii amongst other publications, in kickstarter campaigns and press releases.

Whether film or digital, I love nothing more than capturing the perfect candid moment, an expression as intense as it is fleeting; a spontaneous laugh, a furrowed brow or the moment when a mask drops, revealing the truth below.
